About

Givisiez-based maker of bicycles, e-bikes and equipment for winter sports, motorsports and running, founded in Sun Valley, Idaho in 1958 and now controlled by South Korea's Youngone.

SCOTT Sports designs and sells sports equipment and apparel. Its range includes mountain and road bicycles and e-bikes, such as the Genius and Patron models, together with cycling helmets and shoes. It also makes ski poles, skis, goggles, gloves and outerwear for winter sports, goggles, boots and apparel for motocross and motorsports, and running shoes. The brand began in 1958 when Ed Scott invented an aluminium ski pole in Sun Valley, Idaho; its European headquarters opened in Givisiez near Fribourg in 1978 and a new world headquarters followed there in 2019. Youngone of South Korea held 51% and in 2025 was awarded the remaining stake of former chief executive Beat Zaugg.
